The Archer team is led by founder and managing director, Angela Spain, an award-winning communications practitioner with more than 20 years’ experience in corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, issues and crisis management, marketing communications and strategic advice.
Angela has worked with some of New Zealand’s largest businesses and government agencies across the PR and Marketing spectrum. Her expertise lies in helping businesses and organisations tell their story, while keeping them on point and on brand. She also has a strong track record in using creative ways to get cut through and achieve positive editorial coverage.

In 2015 I woke one Saturday morning to what would be one day one of the most challenging year(s) of my career. The business I was working for (VW) was involved in a global Emissions fraud.The phone was going off the hook with media and the whole global business was in turmoil. Angela was part of the business agency team at the time. She was an absolute rock of stability and common sense. Every day the team gathered to assess the damage and map the plan for the day. Angela was the cornerstone of the communication approach and provided consistent real world advice, guidance and wisdom. Above all, she provided the whole team with the courage to front up, be honest and be straight with people. It was these guiding principles that enabled the business to manage through the crisis. While I certainly do not condone the actions of the business globally, the team was immensely proud of how we handled the situation. This was globally recognized by way of receiving a Roy Morgan customer satisfaction award in the middle of the biggest crisis the business had had in over 70 years. This could not have been achieved without Angela.
